I have been a chiropractor for over 20 years. I spent 18 years owning my own practice in California and when my twin sons went off to university, I closed my business and moved to Scotland in 2019. I worked as the lead chiropractor at a wonderful practice in the shire for 6 years. I made the exciting decision to get my permanent residency, stay in Scotland and own my own practice again.
My decision to become a chiropractor came out of left field for my entire family. I was at university studying to become a teacher with a minor in American Sign Language. I had also suffered severe migraines since I was a child. I would have 3-5 episodes a week since I was 2 yrs old. In my last year at Uni, my mom suggested I go to her chiropractor because I had some lower back pain but after a month of care, my migraines had completely gone. I was stunned. I changed my career choice then and there. I graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001 and haven’t looked back since.
In 2016 I started training in the Activator Methods Technique as a way to take care of my patients that couldn’t be adjusted manually or didn’t like the sound of the “cracking noise”. Over the years I have grown to really love this technique and now that I’m older I’m preferring this technique on my own spine as well, its also an easier technique to perform on my body too. I want to work for another 20 years so I need to take care of myself!
I choose to open my practice in Stonehaven for one very selfish reason. I love it here. I love the sea, the people, the village…everything. I would tell my family that I’m in the California of Scotland because its a beach with a fault line! (FYI the Highland Boundary Fault).
I look forward to taking care of you and your family
